A special winter experience awaits you on the winter via ferrata in the Hochzillertal, accessible via the Wimbach Express cable car - access at the top station of the Wimbach Express cable car.
A winter adventure for the whole family
Immerse yourself in the world of winter via ferratas! The children's via ferrata at the top station of the Hirschbichl T-bar lift is the ideal starting point for beginners and families. With a height of around 20 metres and difficulty level B, children and beginners can experience their first climbing adventures in a safe and child-friendly environment.
Up to the summit cross of the Wimbachkopf
If you want to experience more, follow the path further up to the south-facing winter via ferrata or venture to the centrepiece: the Winter-Alpinsteig. This alpine trail is secured throughout and takes you 1.5 kilometres and 420 metres in altitude along a spectacular ridge to the summit cross of the Wimbachkopf at 2,442 m.
Pure enjoyment
Relax afterwards with a stop at the Wedelhütte or the Albergo and enjoy the impressive mountain scenery. Return to the valley in style on skis or via the winter hiking trail. An unforgettable experience awaits you!
The via ferrata can be reached via the Hochzillertal mountain station (separate lift ticket required) Winter hiking trail to the Wimbachexpress - Albergo starting point at the via ferrata info board on the right-hand corner of the terrace looking into the valley.
Is primarily your own responsibility and at your own risk, via ferrata equipment is recommended, the Winteralpinsteig is to be walked to the Wedelhütte and back, a "pick-up" Wedelhütte is not provided, the Kinderklettersteig and the Winterklettersteig cannot be reached without skis.
Walking on the trail in ski boots is officially not recommended, winter mountain boots or warm, stable shoes are necessary, light crampons or Grödel can be an advantage, especially in spring.
